Projects
Several annotated pages under one link — how a project is created, ordered, shared, and exported.
A board is one page you annotate, at a link like pagecomment.com/board/xn834….
A project is several of those under a single link, at /project/…. Every page in a
project keeps its own board, its own annotations and its own live session; the
project is the ordered list that ties them together.
Creating one
There is no "new project" button. A project appears the first time you move to a second page from a board you are already annotating.
Start with one board, then go somewhere else in any of these ways:
- Click a link inside the page you are annotating. This is the usual path — just browse, and each page you land on is kept.
- Edit the URL field in the toolbar and press Enter.
- On a phone, tap the link button, type a URL, and tap Go.
- Upload a PDF or an image.
Whichever you use, what you have already drawn is saved, a board is created for
the new page, and you land on /project/… with a Pages strip along the top. From
that point on you are in a project.
Opening a URL from the homepage does not create one — that gives you a single board. You have to be on a board for the promotion to happen.
The Pages strip
Tabs sit in the order you visited them and are labelled by hostname and path. Click one to switch to it.
- Add page takes a URL and appends it to the end.
- The trash icon on a tab takes that page out of the project. The board
itself is not deleted — it stays at its own
/board/…link, annotations intact.
A project holds up to 50 pages.
Working together
Each page is its own live session. Two people looking at different tabs of the same project are in different rooms: you will not see their cursor and they will not see yours until you are both on the same page.
Everything else behaves as it does on a single board — annotations sync as they are drawn, and anyone holding the link can draw.
Exporting
Exporting from a project gives you one Markdown document covering all of it: a count across every page, then a section per page with its URL and its annotations in order. That is the whole review in a single file, which is usually what you want to hand to someone.
Sharing and expiry
The /project/… link is the project. Anyone who opens it can read and write — the
id in the link is the only credential, so treat it the way you would treat a
password, and do not post it anywhere you would not post the annotations
themselves.
Any single page still works on its own /board/… link if you would rather send just
one of them.
A board or a project is deleted after 90 days without being opened. Opening one starts the clock again, so anything you are still referencing stays.
Using a project with an AI agent
The MCP server works on one board at a time. Pointing it at a /project/… link is
refused, with a message asking you to open the page you mean and use its /board/…
link instead.
